Wheels: Zipp 303 NSW

Weight: 14.55 lbs (6.6kg) – as seen here without the Garmin Edge 820

When did you buy it?
March, 2016.

What made you choose this bike?
Researched for about a year, as it’s supposed to be my “last” bike and would replace my trusty Kestrel Evoke. I had requirements: 1. Under 16lbs. (the Evoke was 16.6); 2. Climbs well – very hilly country in this Southern New Hampshire/Northern Massachusetts region; 3. Agile handling; 4. Comfortable for long rides of up to a century in length – roads in area are prone to frost heaves, so they can be pretty rough in spots.

What modifications/additions have you done?
3T Ergonova Carbon Handlebars with Lizard Skins bar tape (3.2mm) and Cannondale alum bar plugs; Continental GranPrix 4000s II tires (700×25); Continental Race 28 Light tubes; Zipp 303 NSW wheels; Cannondale carbon water bottle cages; Fizik Kurve saddle; K-edge Garmin holder; Dura-Ace pedals.

What components are you running?
Shimano Dura-Ace mechanical, Zipp 303 NSW wheels, Garmin Edge 820 and Cygolite head and tail lights that are not seen in these pictures;

How many miles/kilometers do you do a year?
Last year: 2779 miles; this year, so far, 2768 miles; have 2617 miles (4211km) on the Evo since I got it in March.

What do you love about this bike?
Amazing agility and instant response at the pedals for great climbing ability; with 80psi/85psi (front/rear) the ride is smooth. Oh, and did I mention the color?

Favorite riding area?
Harvard, MA – beautiful horse country and back lanes.

Favorite riding experience on your bike?
Crushing my old personal bests!

Future upgrades?
I’m done – I hope! I spent months with different saddles and wheels before I sorted it all out.

Last words?
There are a number of people to thank without whom none of this would have been possible: My main man at Riverside Cycle in Newburyport, MA, Tom Reinke; my fitter, Phil Wong at Phil Wong Fit; and my photographer friend, Joe Rogers at Visionaries Events, Inc. Thanks guys!!!
