Gravel Racing In New Zealand

Guides

With gravel racing taking off around the world it’s no surprise to hear that New Zealand’s premier gravel race the UCI 1.2 Gravel and Tar Classic along with the women’s 1.2 La Femme plus their Gran Fondo challenge the Slicks and Stones 100 is back again for 2020 bigger and better than ever.

The 2019 Gravel and Tar was won by EvoPro racing’s Luke Mudgway and you can catch up on some of the action and amazing scenery of the Manawatu region in the video highlights package video below.

If you’re not an elite/pro male or female rider though you can still challenge yourself on the beautiful paved and unpaved roads around Palmerston North with the Slicks and Stones 100 challenge – 100km of undulating hills and gravel sections just like the pros. 25th January is the date to remember, plan your holidays and get your entries in now – Pez’s own Chris Selden is going to be there so head down under and meet him there! gravelandtar.com
